feeling the fields light up, reaching for

the warmth and life, radiating above them,

to be wanted, feeling a desire to be needed

keeps you traveling.

Bitterness Sweetly Softened [poem #353]

Bitterness, sweetly softened

by thick cream that swallows

that dirty brown darkness whole

spin the spoon, and grip the handle

another sip, another taste of

bitterness sweetly softened.

Back cracking, bones

disjointed. Blood blossoming

in the heart. Dreams telling

futures coming and I am here

waiting for you.
