Rain hits the window
a small drumming of fingers
tap, tap, tap, tap
taptaptaptaptap
listening to the wind whisper
and chide the trees, the leaves
in a chorus yelling in protest.
Thank you for reading my work!

Papers litter the floor
shelves of sheets gathered
stapled, clipped, stacked
folded and kept in a
disorganized order. Words
within pages, dripping off
the shelves onto the floor.

The sun peaks out
and warms the earth
there is a hum in the air
the birds sing to it
they chirp and chatter
in the wind, something
new and fresh. The soil
begins to sprout. Spring
is coming.

Barreling into the mind,
the words, the thoughts
worm their way into
my blood, my bones
feel it consume
igniting a fire within
that burns and burns.
Thank you for reading my work!
